NYA-EVO Fjord 60 — Where Photography Meets the Elements

There are places where photography becomes inseparable from the environment itself.Forests saturated with moisture, narrow paths close to waterfalls, damp ground, fog that never fully lifts. These are the conditions I often seek and also the ones that put the greatest stress on both photographer and equipment.
When NYA-EVO provided me with the Fjord 60, I tested it exactly where I normally work: in humid woods, near cascading water, and during multi-day outings where weather is never guaranteed. In these situations, a backpack is not just a container it is a protective shell, a balance point, and sometimes the difference between peace of mind and constant concern.

Built to Withstand Real Conditions
From the very first use, the Fjord 60 conveys a sense of robustness and purpose. The materials feel tough and reliable, designed to resist abrasion, moisture, and repeated use in harsh environments. Nothing about it feels decorative or unnecessary every element appears to be there for a reason.
This becomes particularly important when moving through wet forest floors, slippery rocks, or narrow trails where contact with the ground and vegetation is unavoidable. The backpack feels at ease in these conditions, never fragile or out of place.
Weather Resistance in Humid and Unpredictable Environments
A large part of my photographic work happens in constantly humid areas, often close to waterfalls or in forests where moisture is ever-present. On longer trips, when gear needs to stay protected day after day, resistance to the elements becomes essential.
The Fjord 60 handles these situations extremely well. Its materials and closures provide effective protection against rain, mist, and humidity, allowing me to focus on light and composition rather than worrying about what’s happening inside the backpack. Even after prolonged exposure to damp conditions, the equipment remains well protected something I consider crucial when working far from shelter.
Comfort Over Long Distances
A backpack can be extremely durable, but if it’s uncomfortable, it quickly becomes a limitation.
What I appreciated most is how comfortable the Fjord 60 remains even when fully loaded. The weight distribution is well balanced, and the backpack stays close to the body, which helps maintain stability on uneven terrain and during long hikes.
Whether carrying camera bodies, lenses, a tripod, extra layers, or food and water for the day, the load feels controlled rather than overwhelming — a fundamental aspect when photography requires time, patience, and movement.
Space and Adaptability for Multi-Day Trips
The 60-liter capacity offers generous space, ideal not only for photographic equipment but also for everything that comes with extended outdoor work. There is enough room to carry clothing, weather protection, and additional gear without having to compromise or constantly reorganize.
One feature I particularly appreciated is the upper compression and expansion section. This top compartment allows the backpack to adapt quickly to changing needs — compressing down when carrying less, or expanding when extra space is required for layers or equipment. In real use, especially during trips with changing weather, this flexibility proves extremely practical. Another aspect I particularly appreciated is the padded ICU system. The internal camera unit is protected on all sides, offering 360-degree padding, which makes a real difference when moving through uneven terrain or placing the backpack on wet or rocky ground.
I also liked the way the lenses are enclosed within a fully padded, protective shell, rather than being simply separated by thin dividers. It gives an extra sense of security when carrying heavy optics, especially in environments where humidity, vibrations, and constant movement are part of the experience.
A Tool That Supports the Way I Work
The Fjord 60 does not try to impose a workflow.Instead, it adapts to the photographer, which is something I value deeply. It feels designed for people who spend long hours outdoors, moving through demanding environments where reliability matters more than trends or appearances.
Final Thoughts
The NYA-EVO Fjord 60 is a backpack built for photographers who truly work in the field. It is robust, weather-resistant, comfortable, and spacious, making it particularly well suited for humid forests, waterfall environments, and multi-day photographic journeys in uncertain weather conditions.
I would like to sincerely thank NYA-EVO for providing the Fjord 60 and for their support. Testing gear in real conditions is essential to my work, and I always appreciate collaborations that allow me to do so with honesty and independence.
In the end, when your equipment is protected and your body is not fighting against the load, you are free to concentrate on what really matters — observing, waiting, and creating images that carry atmosphere and meaning.

"When the environment is harsh and unpredictable, your tools should disappear from your thoughts — not add to them.
Only then can you slow down, observe, and truly photograph."
